1-on-1 prayers are for only a small subset of people who find us. 1-on-1 prayers are very costly to both us and to you, as they require time and a quiet space with good internet connectivity. For this reason, 1-on-1 prayers are offered for the more "complex" cases.
Here we'll try to explain what "complex" cases look like. See the sections below for more qualification information.
Simple versus Complex Healing Process
At times healing seems "easy".
Sometimes, though, it seems that God has purposes beyond meeting the known needs, and in these cases seeing the manifestation of healing can take some "digging" guided by Holy Spirit. For these more complex cases, we have limited 1-on-1 Prayer Appointments available. You'll find details of the appointments and how to schedule them below.
Let's consider two scripture examples that demonstrate the mystery of healing:
"22 They came to Bethsaida, and some people brought a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him. 23 He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village. When he had spit on the man's eyes and put his hands on him, Jesus asked, “Do you see anything?”
24 He looked up and said, “I see people; they look like trees walking around.”
25 Once more Jesus put his hands on the man's eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly. 26 Jesus sent him home, saying, “Don't even go into the village.”
Mark 8:22-26, NIV
In this first example, Jesus did some things that might rightly make you scratch your chin and say, "Huh?"!
First, he took the man outside the village. Could this have had something to do with the village itself (which Jesus would later tell the man not to go into)?
Second, Jesus spit on the man's eyes before laying hands on him.
I've heard it said that common treatment of afflicted individuals by Jewish society at the time of Jesus was that people would spit on the afflicted people as they were passed by. The afflicted people were considered sinners as they were thought (wrongly in many cases) to be afflicted on account of their own sin or their parents' sin.
When Jesus spit on the man's eyes he did what many others had likely done to the man, but Jesus was not mocking or degrading the man when he did so. Rather, Jesus used that very degrading thing which had likely been repeatedly done to the man in order to bring about the man's healing!
Why?!
I wish I knew exactly why. Perhaps doing so actually reversed a curse, or perhaps it brought some sort of emotional healing to the man that God knew he needed. God knows, and one day I look forward to watching heaven's replay of the event and asking God why this is how it happened! This example, though, shows one where Jesus was being led by Holy Spirit to do something unusual to accomplish the man's healing.
Next, we'll look at an "easier" example.
46 Then they came to Jericho. As Jesus and his disciples, together with a large crowd, were leaving the city, a blind man, Bartimaeus (which means “son of Timaeus”), was sitting by the roadside begging. 47 When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”
48 Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”
49 Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.”
So they called to the blind man, “Cheer up! On your feet! He's calling you.” 50 Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus.
51 “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him.
The blind man said, “Rabbi, I want to see.”
52 “Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.
Mark 10:46-52, NIV
In this second example we see the method of healing that we often see in the ministry of Jesus... with a "word" the man was healed. Specifically, when Jesus said "Go, your faith has healed you" we see that healing was released to the man.
I cannot tell you exactly why these two men needed different mechanisms of healing. I just know they did, because the scripture shows us that fact. Let this be an illustration for us that:
1. Healing can come by simple or complex routes... we don't get to choose which but the Spirit of God chooses because He is the Healer and He knows best what must be accomplished.
2. We should not give up if we don't see healing come the first time. We keep pursuing... knowing that scripturally everyone we know of who came to Jesus seemed to receive their healing, we can expect that if we persist in going to Jesus for our healing one day we shall see it manifested.
We offer 1-on1 appointments out of the love of Christ to help people along with the more complex cases of healing after they've pursued healing with perseverance on the simple route.
